Viken Detection’s Nighthawk-HBI is a handheld  X-ray imaging instument designed to be rugged, compact and ergonomic. The working principle of the instrument is backscattering X-ray imaging. With Nighthawk-HBI it’s possible to find concealed exposives, narcotics and other contrabands quickly and cost-effectively. The instrument enables the user to scan the object in real-time through the LCD screen of the device. The Nighthawk-HBI is suitable for screening objects in hard-to-reach areas (e.g. suspicious bags and parcels, walls, furniture, small boats, aircraft, vehicle tyres, and car interiors).

 It is easy to detect threats including weapons, explosives, narcotics, cash, and other anomalies through steel up to 3 mm thickness with this instrument. The instrument can be ordered with several optinal accessories like high area detector panel, X-ray tube with higher performance (140 kV), tablet or a software module for detecting hidden lead cases.
